Spelling
Each week, students will get a list of 15 new spelling words. Each week, the list of words is based on a pattern of some sort. Students will be tested on these words every Friday. A fun way to study these words would be with our Spelling City Website!
Reading
Each week we will focus on a different reading story. Each story will incorporate various comprehension skills and reading skills that we will work on each week. Comprehension skills might include topics such as: finding the main idea and details, finding the author's purpose, sequencing, making inferences, etc. Reading skills might include topics such as: locating information, antonyms and synonyms, multiple meaning words, etc.
Writing
We are fortunate enough to be co-teaching writing this year! Mrs. Kahla, Miss Schukei, and Mrs. Collins all work together to plan our writing lessons. With utilizing three teachers, we are able to help students more and give students better instruction as they are working on their writing skills.
