Flu is Out, Routine is IN!

Thank you so much for your patience parents!  It was a very long week to not be at school!  On the upside, it sounds like not only did the students have a BLAST dressing up each day for Dr. Seuss week, but they got 4 extra days of science review!  I HAD to give them the first part of their science test today because they just rocked it!  I am so impressed and excited for them!  We will finish the other section on Monday.  :)
Last week, I emailed about a spelling test that we would retake.  Well, we weren't able to do that this week because I was sick.  Therefore, your child is going to retake the Contraction spelling list this upcoming week!  We will take our test Thursday!  The list is on the classroom Spelling City Website.  Just click on Contraction Retest.
We will not be having a typical reading story this week.  Instead, we will be doing our end of the quarter Reading testing.

Last note for you -- your child should have brought home a paper that looks like this:
If they didn't show it to you yet - ask them where it is!  It'll show you when we get to meet next to talk about your amazing child!

**DON'T FORGET - EARLY RELEASE ON FRIDAY, MARCH 14**

Thanks again for all of the well wishes and patience this week with my being sick!  I finally feel back to myself today.

Thanks for all that you do!

Science Test

Hi there parents!  We have our 3rd quarter Essential Objective test coming up next week!  Students have learned so much and are ready!  They will be bringing home lots of review materials this week - be sure to study them with your child!  There will be a few different things that will come home with your child.  For example, be on the look-out for these.....
We will be taking our test next Tuesday, March 4th.  :)  Have your child check out these videos if you feel they need more study help!

Valentine's Party Boxes

Hope you enjoyed our snowday yesterday!!

I'm looking forward to our Valentine's Day Party on Wednesday, February 12th.  I've got a great art project prepared for my students!  We are going to be making Monsters to eat up all of our Valentines!

The idea comes from this:
http://gigglesgalore.net/tattle-monster/

Ours are not going to be tattle monsters, but Valentine monsters instead.  What I am looking for are empty Kleenex boxes or egg cartons.  If you have some extra at your house, instead of throwing them out, we would really love them in our classroom!

Thanks for all you do!
